Happy little peanut….

Sweet Baby C…He has a special place in my heart.  I will be forever grateful I said yes when I got an email from his beautiful mama last year asking if I had room for a newborn session.  We were at the beach and he was already six weeks old.  I remember panicking a little – I had never photographed a baby born so young, we would be doing his session at seven weeks, yet still almost a week before his due date!

He was a joy to work with and his family has been wonderful to get to know over the last year.  I had the privilege of photographing him again at five months for their Holiday session and I am oh so glad we were able to squeeze him in for an *almost* one year session just before our big move.  And he seemed pretty happy about it too!  I think he was the happiest little one year old I have photographed – so fully of giggles, belly laughs and great big smiles.  What a fantastic way to say goodbye to my Virginia studio!

Thank you Baby C for adding so much joy to my life :)  I wish you all the best little guy!

I love these progressions with babies – their expressions as they warm up to the idea of the camera (and me!) are just priceless…

And Baby Brother makes two…

Oh how fun it is to watch my babies ~ and their families ~ grow!  This family first came to me for big brother’s newborn photos just about two years ago.  Then we got to have some cake smashing fun when he turned one and now I had the great privilege of helping to welcome his baby brother to the family!  As a Mama of two boys myself, I do have a special place in my heart for brothers :)

I have had to take quite a bit of time off from the studio to get our family ready for our big move to Kansas City (just four more weeks!) but it felt oh so good to be back in the studio this month.  I am definitely going to miss my wonderful clients here, but I am also looking forward to meeting so many new friends in Kansas.

Mother’s Day | My Stinkers

A few weeks ago my husband asked me what I wanted for Mother’s Day.  My answer? Pictures.  I got a blank stare in return… Um, pictures?  Now, my sweet husband was at a loss for a moment – he doesn’t actually know where I keep the cameras (or how to turn one on if he found it ;).  No, no, I explained.  What I want is some time over the weekend (things have been a little busy around here!!) to take the boys out and really do a proper session with them.  Then I want to order a nice wall gallery of the photos for our new home in Kansas.  I love BIG canvases (like, reeeaalllly big ;) and I have been waiting all winter to get these boys outside and do a fun spring session.

Well, Daddy must have given these boys a great pep talk, because they did fantastic and this Mama could not be happier.  I loved having beautiful photographs to gift to their grandmothers for Mother’s Day and I am so excited to get these images up on my own walls!  Of course I am super excited to share the session with all of you too :)

My boys are 3 1/2  and 6 and I can’t believe how fast they are growing up into such big little boys – there are no babies in this house anymore!  I adore these two little guys and I am blessed beyond measure to have them call me Mama…

Thank you Scott for gifting me with the time during these busy days to do this session with our boys and thank you Benjamin and Jonah for gifting your Mama with such gorgeous smiles, precious laughter and perfectly silly expressions that capture YOU exactly as you are. I will treasure these always…

Chelsea Lietz - I can’t get enough of your handsome boys!! Great shots and beautiful family. They are welcome to date my daughters… in 30 years.
